Tried & Tested - Makeup Revolution Amazing Care Lipstick

Makeup Revolution Amazing Care Lipstick - The Daily Rumble
I really don't need anymore lipsticks. Or lip balms. I'm trying to hold back on new lip purchases for just a little while. However, I don't have any lipsticks with lip balms all in one (excuses, excuses). It goes without saying when I spotted Makeup Revolution's Amazing Care Lipsticks I had to have one. Or two. I needed them. Really.

First off the lipstick bullet itself immediately reminded me of Clarin's Instant Smooth Crystal Lip Balms - A gorgeous pop of colour cased in a luxurious lip balm. They do look pretty similar but the big different is the price. Makeup Revolution's Amazing Care Lipsticks are only £3 each. Bargain ahoy. (The Clarins are around £18).

Available in 5 shades I opted for 'Love Nude!' a classic nude colour (top photo) & 'Love A Hug', a pretty pink (bottom photo).

The boxes say these lipsticks are 'hydrating and moisturising with amazing hot colour'. Sounds pretty darn perfect to me. The outer layer is the balm, which contains the much hyped about Argan Oil, and is clear. The colour can be found inside this & I have to say they really do look impressive. The kind of lipstick that you could just bite.

They swatched really well. On the lips to get a good covering of colour you need to be incredibly generous with the application, but once you've applied enough they deliver a really pretty wash of colour. Rather than a shock of vibrant pigment the colours are very soft and give a lovely subtle look. The perfect lipstick to wear if you're rocking a dark or smokey eye.

Now, the balm is well, perfectly balmy. They feel incredibly moisturising without being greasy or sticky, just beautifully lightweight and hydrating. I absolutely love how they feel on.

They're not incredibly long wearing but to be fair they don't claim to be. These beauties are all about the moisture and they do that brilliantly. I would class these more as a balm than a lipstick but for a soft wash of colour these are ideal. You really can't complain for £3!

I am very tempted to buy the other 3 colours as I can see myself reaching for these on a daily basis, especially as that lip-drying colder weather rolls around. If you're after a bright vibrant lipstick these probably aren't for you, but for one that delivers moisture these are perfect.

Any negatives? The only thing is after the first use the lipstick itself gets a little messy, it doesn't stay in two neat distinct layers, but not the biggest of deals. Overall, a great budget balm with really pretty colours. A perfect Autumn purse friendly purchase.

Have you tried the Amazing Care lipsticks? What Makeup Revolution products do you reach for daily?
